Family Business Governance

Through a discussion among experts in the field and with the direct experience of entrepreneurs, this course aims to provide entrepreneurs and senior managers of SMEs with training tools suitable for facilitating the governance of the business in its various stages of evolution and transformation, in order to be better able to cope with the increasingly accelerated dynamics of change in the 21st century.

Placing the value of the company and its history over time at the center of all activities, we will study, among other subjects, corporate governance models suitable for facilitating the generational transition of business, the prevention of any family conflicts, and the selection and placement of managers.

Governance and Compliance will be investigated as moments of value creation for the company in line with international best practices, paying particular attention to the management of access to credit to support both ordinary and extraordinary transactions, as well as the relationship between governance and ESG compliance models.

The course will include the study and analysis of practical cases and a continuous discussion between participants and lecturers in order to monitor the level of applicability of the models discussed to specific business situations, with the aim of creating a virtual system of common growth of the participants, seeking to give concrete and operational tools with the possibility of benefiting from training updates.

The relationships with compliance models and corporate control bodies to be experienced as value creation and not as burdensome bureaucratic tools will also be investigated.

The course consists of 8 days, organized into four two-day sessions over the weekend (Fridays and Saturdays).

The teaching approach will include: face-to-face lectures with experienced lecturers and professionals in the field, real case analyses, and opportunities for applied personal reflection (“wrap up”) in order to maximize the practical transfer of what has been learned to one’s own business context.
