Structure

Pre – Courses
A short course on the fundamentals of STEM subjects that will provide you with the basic knowledge needed for the technical part of the master’s program.

Core courses

12 core courses. The first technical part will provide tools and skills that will be applied during the second business part, which will focus on how to leverage data in the various sectors of the business.

Teaching activities include lectures, case studies and technical labs. An exam is scheduled at the end of each course to assess the participants’ level of learning.

Data Talks

4 opportunities for discussion with international managers. The purpose of the meeting is to share experiences, business cases and best practices.

Focus Sessions

6 meetings with managers, experts and professionals on cross-cutting data-driven business challenges and topics such as: Design Thinking, Data Ethics, Privacy and Data Protection, Future of Business Platforms & Ecosystems and App Prototyping.

Smart Weeks on Campus

2 on Campus (Bologna) Smart Weeks (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) allow the participants to strengthen the value of personal interaction with the classmates and faculty. You will take part in Workshops, Leadership talks, and Company Visits at prestigious companies that are part of the School’s Business Network.

Project work

The core of this master’s program is Project Work—a remarkable project to apply the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course. Working in small groups, participants will take a raw data set and turn it into a thriving business project, guided and supported by a team of experts.

 

COURSES

The aim of the course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of statistics, mathematics, probability, and computer science necessary for data analysis. The course begins with a general introduction to data analysis and descriptive statistics, followed by an exploration of key topics in linear algebra and probability.

This course will be focused on where data is stored, where are data housing and data lakes, what do all different domains do and mean and how we can relate to them. During this course you will understand how they change the way we do business and will get to know the potential barriers that data storage can generate in your business.

During this course you will learn how to use Python to analyze data, automate tasks, and create visualizations that can help you make better business decisions.

This course will cover the fundamental of machine learning for medium and large dimensional data sets. During the course you’ll explore how different methods can be used to analyse data, classify information and make predictions. This course will also provide you with some understanding on how some machine learning tools can operate.

This intensive course provides essential cybersecurity principles specifically tailored for Data Management professionals. Moving beyond general IT security, this course focuses on the unique challenges of protecting large-scale data assets, which are often the primary target of cyberattacks. Students will explore the modern data threat landscape by analyzing real-world attack scenarios and case studies. They will also learn the technical controls required to secure data infrastructure. The curriculum covers databases, data warehouses, and cloud environments, emphasizing practical, proactive defense techniques such as encryption, anonymization, access management, and API security. The course will provide the students with a clear framework for responding to a data breach and fostering a robust, security-aware culture within their teams.

This executive-level course is designed to equip senior decision-makers, executives, and leaders with a comprehensive understanding of large language models. Participants will explore the fundamentals of large language models, with a focus on GPT models, gain insights into their applications and key implementations, and examine emerging trends and future developments in artificial intelligence.

This course is designed for those who work with data and want to deepen their knowledge on ways to make effective visualizations and dashboards. You will learn how visual memory works, how to use different chart types appropriately in order to answer specific questions, and how to design dashboards using visual best practices. Key concepts will be explored using a hands-on teaching method, alternating between theory and practice.

This course is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required for managing artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of business innovation. It aims to systematically guide learners in understanding, embracing, and capitalizing on the transformative potential of AI to redefine business futures. The first part of the course focuses on AI and different aspects of business innovation, such as products, services, processes, organizational structures, and business models, and the exploration (sensing, seizing and implementing) of business opportunities related to AI. The second part, explores the role of AI in enhancing various stages of the Business Innovation pipeline, providing practical insights into leveraging AI for business evolution.

Technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber Physical Systems, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cyber security, data analytics, block chain and cloud technology are radically transforming production and distribution systems. This course aims to investigate these transformations to understand the firms’ ability of gathering and analysing information about their environment can generate significant value to the SCM processes.

During the Master, a series of seminars with headhunters and HR managers provides participants with tools and resources for professional growth and positioning in leadership roles. At the end of the program, participants can join the activities of the Community, expanding their network through meetings with managers, entrepreneurs, and guest speakers who explore the ongoing changes in the world of work. Among these initiatives, Alumni Mentoring stands out: alumni offer personalized support to participants, sharing experiences and strategic advice in an intergenerational dialogue that strengthens the network and continues beyond the Master.
