Claudia Miani
Innovation & Management Advisor PMI-Northern Italy Chapter Director for Branch EmiliaRomagna

She holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in business consulting and training since February 2009.

Her core areas of expertise are Innovation, New Product Development, Project Management, and Change Management initiatives involving these areas. She draws on extensive managerial experience in companies of different sizes and nationalities with modern organisational structures, as well as an in-depth understanding of the organisation and operational processes of engineering departments.

She has extensive experience in Project Management within well-established companies. She also volunteered with PMI for 12 years, holding a leadership role in its Northern Italy Chapter (www.pmi-nic.org), and is a Past Director of the PMI-NIC Emilia-Romagna Branch.

An engaging leader, she motivates and inspires key people, instilling positivity and confidence in internal teams as they undertake necessary change initiatives. She specialises in Change Management projects in the industrial, packaging, and biomedical sectors.

For several years, she has been applying “Learn & Fun” techniques: a new approach to training and developing people in Risk Management, Innovation Management, and Project Experience, as well as Design Thinking, which she delivers together with two colleagues.

She is co-authoring a book with a team of colleagues on practical, applicable Design to Cost methodologies. She presented a preview at the Innovation Executive Conference “Innovating to Compete”, for which she serves as a member of the Scientific Committee. She was the first in Italy to introduce Design to Cost methodologies based on the McKinsey approach, which she has adapted and tailored to the characteristics of medium-sized and large Italian companies.

She is an Adjunct Professor teaching Project Management and Innovation Management at the University of Bologna, Bologna Business School, and various Italian management schools. She also provides training in Design to Cost (DTC), Design Thinking, and the Scrum framework.
