On Thursday, 9 July, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM CEST, join us online via Microsoft Teams for the open lecture “Sustainability Beyond Boundaries. How Value Chains Drive Resilience, Responsibility and Sustainable Impact“.
As companies face growing environmental and social challenges, sustainability can no longer be addressed by individual firms alone. Drawing on evidence from Italian value chains, this session explores how sustainability performance is shaped by firms’ positions within broader business ecosystems and why collaboration is becoming essential for long-term impact.
The lecture will discuss the limits of chain liability as the dominant approach to supply-chain sustainability and introduce the concept of shared responsibility, based on collaboration, learning, and co-creation.
Participants will gain insights into how value-chain knowledge can help organizations build resilience, strengthen sustainability performance, and create lasting value.
The session will be led in English by Professor Matteo Mura, Full Professor at the University of Bologna and Director of Bologna Business School’s Executive Master in Sustainability Management and Master in Sustainability Management.
