Executive Manager with over 35 years of national and international experience, specializing in the Energy and Utilities sectors.
He served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Snam S.p.A. from April 2022 to May 2025.
Previously, he spent approximately 18 years at Hera S.p.A., holding positions of increasing responsibility. He was Chief Executive Officer from 2014 to 2022 and, prior to that, Executive Director for Development and Markets from 2008 to 2014.
From 1996 to 2004, he worked at the consulting firm Kearney, where he advanced to the role of Vice President, Energy & Utilities, gaining additional experience in the Telecommunications and Automotive sectors.
Earlier in his career, he spent more than seven years within the Eni Group, particularly in its petrochemical operating company. In 1987–1988, he worked for the Electrolux Group.
Stefano Venier is currently Operating Partner for Tech and Clean-Tech at the private equity fund FSI.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Sorgenia and BW ESS. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Industrie De Nora, as well as on the boards of several other national and international companies within the groups he has led.
The purpose of this course is to explore multiple perspectives of innovation for sustainable development, including its opportunities and challenges. At the end of the course, students will have improved skills in discussing, analyzing and thinking critically about innovation for sustainability across multiple sectors. This is important for companies that want to rewire their technologies and business models to reach both short- and long-term sustainability goals.
