Massimiliano Basile, an Alumnus of the MBA Part-time (Weekend)<\/strong><\/a> at BBS and now <\/span>Marketing Director at Tesisquare<\/b>, immediately distinguished himself within the BBS Community, becoming <\/span>co-president of the Student Council<\/b>. More than a year later, we take stock of how and why the choice to attend a demanding Master’s degree such as the MBA has changed your life and career.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell us about your career path<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

My professional career started at <\/span>Accenture<\/b>, where I worked for about 17 years. I immediately joined the <\/span>marketing department,<\/b> managing national and international sports and cultural sponsorships. I then moved on to take care of <\/span>go-to-market positioning projects <\/b>for clients and, later, <\/span>strategic marketing<\/b> in the product division. I then joined <\/span>Biesse Group <\/b>– one of the clients I was following on digital and IoT (Internet of Things) issues, as a consultant –<\/span> as Group Trade Marketing Manager. In this role, I coordinated <\/span>strategic marketing activities<\/b> for all distributors in over 50 countries, defining the strategy and go-to-market for all B2B and B2B2C activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

You recently became Marketing Director of Tesisquare, a leading supply chain solutions company. How much has your choice to continue your education at BBS affected your professional growth?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Obtaining the Master’s degree had an impact on several factors. First of all, because of the <\/span>multidisciplinary<\/b> preparation I received, I broadened my analytical expertise on relevant factors such as <\/span>finance<\/b>, <\/span>management control<\/b>, the <\/span>supply chain <\/b>world, and many other subjects I had only superficial notions of. Furthermore, the relevance of the title and the business school certainly helped the head-hunter’s initial selection in finding suitable profiles for the proposed role.<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you see as the strengths of the Part-time MBA at BBS?<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

There are several strengths of this MBA. To list the main ones, first and foremost, <\/span>the team of professors<\/b> such as Riccardo Silvi and Fabio Ancarani. Their <\/span>enthusiasm and very high level of professionalism<\/b> accompanied us throughout our studies, which lasted almost two years. I have only mentioned a couple of professors because they are the ones I have bonded with most. Still,<\/span> all the teachers with not only a university background but also a business background<\/b> represented the greatest strength of my path. I also appreciated the direct contact with the <\/span>manufacturing realities of the region<\/b>, the testimonials from external managers and the <\/span>business school network<\/b>. Last, the <\/span>Alumni programme <\/b>is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to get back into the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

You are an active and valuable BBS Community member and a former Student Council co-chair. What did that experience teach you, and what is the added value of belonging to a Community like Bologna Business School?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Entering the BBS world as a student representative was <\/span>an honour and a formative experience<\/b>. Among the various activities I carried out, I managed communication with all the students during the lockdown, when lectures were temporarily transferred to a distance learning format instead of classroom presence. Being part of the community allowed me to <\/span>establish human and professional relationships<\/b> that enriched and accompanied me during and after my studies and to enter an international and stimulating reality of people with very high-level backgrounds. Thanks to the BBS’s countless initiatives, events, conferences, etc., you are constantly updated on highly topical business issues. Above all, you can compare different realities, but with the lowest common denominator of <\/span>increasing your managerial skills<\/b> each time. In conclusion, I suggest that all who feel like getting back into the game consider a Master’s degree in BBS. Although it is a crucial and demanding professional decision, <\/span>it is the correct answer to broaden one’s horizons and get back into the game<\/b> in today’s working environment, which requires constant updating.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
