{"id":17847,"date":"2019-07-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/5th-meeting-of-the-working-group-on-coal-regions-in-transition\/"},"modified":"2020-02-28T14:24:43","modified_gmt":"2020-02-28T14:24:43","slug":"5th-meeting-of-the-working-group-on-coal-regions-in-transition-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/5th-meeting-of-the-working-group-on-coal-regions-in-transition-2\/","title":{"rendered":"5th Meeting of the Working Group on Coal Regions in Transition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The <strong>European Commission<\/strong> set up a new project in December 2017 called &#8220;Platform on Coal Regions in Transition&#8221;.<\/span><br \/>\n<!--more--><br class=\"Apple-interchange-newline\" \/><span style=\"color: #222222;\">The event includes three meetings a year between working groups that discuss the best practices aimed at facilitating the transition to sustainable industrial development processes in European regions with a high carbon footprint. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">On July 15th and 16th the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/energy\/en\/topics\/oil-gas-and-coal\/coal-regions-in-transition\/working-groups-meetings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">5th Meeting of the Working Group on Coal Regions in Transition<\/a>&#8221; was held, an important meeting focused on updates regarding the transition strategies of the energy system, both in economic and technological terms. Among the crucial moments of the initiative, insights into the success stories of other EU regions and contributions from international initiatives related to the transition from coal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Among the speakers <strong>Matteo Mura<\/strong>, Professor of the University of Bologna and of Bologna Business School, took part in the event, invited to present the results of the research project &#8220;Re-Industrialise&#8221;, funded by the European Commission through Climate KIC funds and developed together to colleagues Mariolina Longo, Sara Zanni, Laura Toschi and Franco Visani. The presentation focused on the <strong>development of a measurement<\/strong> and <strong>benchmarking model of the Sustainability Transition applied to all European regions<\/strong>. The study aims to support industrial sustainability policies at European level, which have positive and effective consequences for the different regions of the Union. <strong>Sustainability <\/strong>and<strong> circular economy<\/strong> are some of the themes at the center of the educational programs proposed by the Bologna Business School training bears. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Matteo Mura, Scientific Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/hp\/global-mba\/mba-green-energy-and-sustainable-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Global MBA in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses<\/strong><\/a>, promotes in his logical lessons virtuous innovation and shares an ethical dimension applied to the role of manager. The Global MBA offers its students the possibility of a proactive comparison with industry leaders: the program provides the tools to support the efficiency of existing resources on the one hand, and on the other to plan new scenarios based on sustainable business models.\u00a0<\/span>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/hp\/global-mba\/mba-green-energy-and-sustainable-businesses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Global MBA in Green Energy and Sustainable Businesses<\/strong><\/a> is aimed at young managers who see in the challenges of climate change the principle on which to build the future of companies.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sustainability is an urgency, but with the right preparation it can become a
