The potential of a new approach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cathy Huyghe<\/strong>, Co-founder of Enolytics as well as journalist and Wine Writer for Forbes.com and Food52.com, shares\u00a0on <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/what-you-learn-data-16th-century-italian-villa-cathy-huyghe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">LinkedIn<\/span><\/a><\/span> the teaching experience with the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/hp\/global-mba\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">BBS Global MBA<\/span><\/a><\/span> class.\u00a0<span title=\"\">With the students of the track in Food and Wine she addressed the themes of\u00a0<strong>narrative\u00a0and innovation<\/strong>, while with the complete Global MBA class she discussed about <strong>big data<\/strong> and their role in today&#8217;s management.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe courses are about <strong>narrative, innovation and data<\/strong>, which are the three cornerstones that form the foundational tripod of my work life. It is built on these.<\/p>\n<p>The students may have come into the room expecting to learn something from me, their teacher, but I came into the room expecting to learn something from\u00a0<em>them<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tell me, I said, after I spoke to them about narrative and innovation and big data for wine. Tell me how to take what you know \u2013- about data and your work lives in these different industries \u2013- and make our work with Enolytics even better.<\/p>\n<p>Which they did, one by one.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The students\u00a0from the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"\/hp\/?p=7587\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Innovation Management<\/span><\/a><\/span> program spoke about data as it relates to distribution and the supply chain.<\/li>\n<li>The students\u00a0from <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"\/hp\/?p=1607\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Corporate Finance<\/span><\/a><\/span> spoke about valuations and access to capital.<\/li>\n<li>The students\u00a0in the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"\/hp\/?p=1610\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Design, Fashion and Luxury Goods<\/span><\/a><\/span> track spoke about CRM and how to use it to create memorable experiences that translate to your most loyal, best-spending customers.<\/li>\n<li>The students\u00a0in <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"\/hp\/?p=1616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Green Energy<\/span><\/a><\/span> went right for the operational side of things, namely the growers and viticulturalists, and spoke about internal data to advance environmental efficiency.<\/li>\n<li>And the students\u00a0in the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a href=\"\/hp\/?p=1613\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Food and Wine<\/span><\/a><\/span> track spoke about the ways that data could be anonymized, shared and studied for the benefit of the industry as a whole.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those students may have been in the class expecting to learn something from me, and maybe they did.
