{"id":156634,"date":"2026-08-06T11:23:06","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T09:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/?p=156634"},"modified":"2026-08-06T11:40:44","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T09:40:44","slug":"from-ideas-to-business-the-business-management-master-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/from-ideas-to-business-the-business-management-master-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Turning Ideas into Business: Business Management Master Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Six projects, months of teamwork, and one final day to present business ideas developed through research, collaboration, and shared decision-making.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On July 30, students from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/professional-master-in-business-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Professional Master in Business Management<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at <\/span><b>Bologna Business School<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> presented their finalist Master Projects before a panel of professionals from the worlds of business, innovation, research, and startups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The six teams selected for the final were:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 5 \u2013 Kick Sense<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 3 \u2013 Mind Balance<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 16 \u2013 Dora<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 10 \u2013 Smartskin<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 18 \u2013 The Eye<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Group 15 \u2013 Kura<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event marked the culmination of a journey that had begun months earlier. Throughout the Master, students worked in teams to develop new business ideas, transforming initial concepts into comprehensive business plans that combined strategic, organizational, economic, and financial perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project was designed not only to strengthen entrepreneurial thinking\u2014now an essential skill in virtually every professional setting\u2014but also to help students develop a holistic understanding of business by connecting functions, resources, and decision-making processes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before reaching the final, all projects were presented during a semifinal round led by <\/span><b>Barbara Lorenzini<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Marketing Lecturer for the Master, and <\/span><b>Claudio Venezia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Lecturer and Founder &amp; CEO of Officina Startup. This stage gave each team the opportunity to test the strength of its proposal, receive valuable feedback, and refine its project ahead of the final presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Presenting an Idea Means Defending Every Decision<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Success in the final required much more than an effective presentation. Each team was expected to demonstrate a clear understanding of the problem they had identified, explain the value of their proposed solution, define their target market, and prove the sustainability of their business model.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presenting a project before an external jury of experienced professionals and entrepreneurs also meant responding to unexpected questions, acknowledging areas for further development, and confidently explaining the decisions made throughout the project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The six Master Projects were evaluated by:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Massimo Monti<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Formula Imola S.p.A. \u2013 Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Vittoria San Pietro<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, MUG<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Luca Battistelli<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, IRST &#8220;Dino Amadori&#8221; IRCCS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Emiliano Cerritelli<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Medtronic<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Federica Tadini<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Almacube<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Roberto Barberis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, StartupItalia<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing together a range of professional backgrounds, the jury assessed each project for its ability to address real-world needs, create value, and translate an innovative idea into a coherent and viable business proposition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Winning Project<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The award for <\/span><b>Best Master Project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> went to <\/span><b>Kick Sense<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, developed by <\/span><b>Matteo Grande, Giacomo Grassi, Antonio Manzi, Gianmarco Pistilli, Giacomo Giuffrida, Cristiano Ramazzotti, and Gabriele Schirinzi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project introduces an innovative wearable sensor paired with a mobile application that transforms data collected during training sessions and matches into meaningful performance insights. Its goal is to make advanced performance analysis\u2014currently available mainly to professional clubs\u2014accessible to youth and amateur football as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As <\/span><b>Roberto Barberis<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> highlighted, the experience demonstrated how education and entrepreneurship are closely connected: an idea gains real value when it is shared, challenged, and refined through collaboration among people with different skills and perspectives.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A Collective Achievement<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final presentation represents only the most visible part of the Master Project experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behind every pitch are months of research, analysis, revisions, discarded ideas, and decisions shaped through continuous teamwork. Each group learned to share responsibilities, combine different areas of expertise, and work together toward a common goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is precisely through this process that the Master Project achieves its greatest educational value. Throughout the <\/span><b>Professional Master in Business Management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, students put the tools and knowledge acquired during the programme into practice by developing a complete business project, while gaining first-hand experience of the collaborative dynamics they will encounter in their future careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The final event on July 30 showcased the six selected projects, but it also celebrated the commitment of every student who took part in the semifinal stage and dedicated months to developing their business ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Congratulations to all participants, the finalist teams, and especially to the winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span
