On <\/span>September 12<\/b>, in the heart of <\/span>Bologna<\/b>, <\/span>Piazza Maggiore<\/b> hosted the <\/span>Graduation 2025<\/b> ceremony of <\/span>Bologna Business School<\/b>. A solemn and heartfelt celebration, the event united the world\u2019s oldest academic tradition with the mission of a School that looks ahead\u2014shaping leaders who will impact society and the global economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The evening began with the entrance of the graduating students, over 800 this year, followed by the academic procession of the <\/span>Faculty<\/b>, <\/span>Master Directors<\/b>, <\/span>Associate Deans<\/b>, and the <\/span>Rector\u2019s delegation<\/b>. After the <\/span>European<\/b> and <\/span>Italian anthems<\/b>, institutional representatives took the stage: <\/span>Michele De Pascale<\/b>, <\/span>President of the Emilia-Romagna Region<\/b>, and <\/span>Matteo Lepore<\/b>, <\/span>Mayor of Bologna<\/b>, both highlighted the enduring bond between the city and the School, which for 25 years has been nurturing human capital and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first international message came from <\/span>Eric Cornuel<\/b>, <\/span>President of EFMD Global<\/b>, who praised <\/span>Bologna Business School<\/b> as a unique institution that combines academic excellence, innovation, and responsibility.<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cYour leadership must be about building bridges, in a time when neither prosperity nor peace can be taken for granted. You are called to lead sustainable and inclusive change.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Romano Prodi<\/b>, <\/span>President of the BBS Steering Committee<\/b>, followed with a speech that blended reflection and encouragement:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201c<\/span>BBS<\/b> enters its 25th year\u2014a brief but fruitful quarter-century, supported by the world\u2019s oldest university, our <\/span>Alma Mater<\/b>. To the graduates, I say: don\u2019t get swept along by change\u2014have the courage to walk the path of transformation. Decline wins only if we accept it. Your strength will not lie only in individual or artificial intelligence, but in shared intelligence. Keep nurturing curiosity and experimentation, because we are all apprentices in a lifelong learning journey grounded in hope. Do not give in to fear, even in uncertain times. Stay together, work together\u2014because, as we say around here: even if it\u2019s night, dawn is near.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Dean Massimo Bergami<\/b> revisited the School\u2019s journey and mission, offering the graduates a powerful message of vision and responsibility:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cThe diploma you receive today is not an endpoint\u2014it is a key. A key that opens doors. But remember: you are the ones who will build those doors, decide where to place them, and choose which worlds to enter. This is the challenge that awaits you\u2014not merely to follow paths already paved, but to imagine new ones, with courage and accountability. In <\/span>BBS<\/b>, you\u2019ve experienced how knowledge grows through dialogue, collaboration, and diverse perspectives. That is the spirit you must carry forward: imagination to glimpse possibilities that do not yet exist, and responsibility to turn them into reality. There is no such thing as individual success if it is not shared. Your true strength will lie in your ability to create value for others. The future is yours, to the extent that you can make it a future for everyone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony then honored the academic community with <\/span>Faculty Awards<\/b> for the best professors in the <\/span>Master<\/b> and <\/span>Executive Master<\/b> programs, as well as <\/span>Student Awards<\/b> for top-performing graduates across the different program areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most powerful moments came with the speech by <\/span>Sabrina Julia Portulese<\/b>, <\/span>Co-chair of the BBS Student Council<\/b>, who intertwined her personal story with her <\/span>BBS<\/b> experience:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cFear is not an obstacle\u2014it\u2019s a compass. If you\u2019re not scared, you\u2019re probably standing still. Here, we learned to turn disorientation into energy, and to become interpreters of different worlds. This is what the future demands from each of us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Rector, Giovanni Molari<\/b>, emphasized the significance of celebrating in <\/span>Piazza Maggiore<\/b>, \u201cbecause education concerns the entire community,\u201d and introduced the <\/span>Laudatio<\/b> by <\/span>Professor Paola Giuri<\/b> in honor of <\/span>Stefano Domenicali<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stefano Domenicali<\/b>, <\/span>CEO of Formula 1<\/b>, delivered the <\/span>Commencement Speech<\/b>, sharing insights from his professional journey:<\/span>
\n<\/span> \u201cDare to take risks, cultivate dedication, integrity, and teamwork. True strength lies in transforming pressure into determination, and maintaining clarity even in the most difficult moments.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span> Immediately afterward, the <\/span>Rector<\/b> awarded him the <\/span>Sigillum Magnum<\/b> of the <\/span>University of Bologna<\/b>, the University\u2019s highest honor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final part of the ceremony saw the <\/span>Associate Deans<\/b> call out the names of the <\/span>Master\u2019s<\/b> graduates, before the <\/span>Rector<\/b> officially conferred their degrees. <\/span>Piazza Maggiore<\/b> lit up with the traditional cap toss and the notes of <\/span>Gaudeamus Igitur<\/span><\/i>, sealing the moment in a collective embrace.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graduation 2025<\/b> once again affirmed the deepest message of <\/span>Bologna Business School<\/b>: the future is not something to wait for\u2014it is something we create. <\/span>Together.<\/b><\/p>\n
