On September 20, 2024, Bologna Business School\u2019s New Campus hosted a <\/span>New Campus Talk<\/b> focused on one of the most pressing topics in the healthcare world: <\/span>“AI in Healthcare: Opportunities for European Industries”<\/b>. The event brought together international experts from the fields of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and technology to explore how AI is transforming the healthcare industry and what opportunities this shift offers to European companies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event, moderated by <\/span>Teodor Grantcharov<\/b>, Professor of Surgery at Stanford University, featured prominent figures such as <\/span>Mahdi Azizian<\/b> (Nvidia), <\/span>Stephen Thompson<\/b> (Intuitive Surgical), <\/span>Rachel King<\/b> (Johnson & Johnson Med-Tech), <\/span>Luigi Di Stefano<\/b> (University of Bologna), <\/span>Andrew Hung<\/b> (Cedars-Sinai), <\/span>Marc Paradis<\/b> (Northwell Health), <\/span>Chiara Formenti<\/b> (Pfizer), and <\/span>Antonio Gulli<\/b> (Google). The discussion delved into the numerous impacts AI is having on healthcare, opening new avenues for improving clinical processes, diagnostics, and personalized care.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the key topics was the role of AI in advanced surgery and medical devices. <\/span>Mahdi Azizian<\/b> shared Nvidia’s experience in integrating AI into robotic surgery, enabling greater efficiency and precision. <\/span>Stephen Thompson<\/b> highlighted how AI helps surgeons refine their skills through continuous learning based on data analysis.
