{"id":117547,"date":"2024-03-18T10:10:24","date_gmt":"2024-03-18T09:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/?p=117547"},"modified":"2024-03-18T10:12:43","modified_gmt":"2024-03-18T09:12:43","slug":"career-advancement-and-global-mba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/career-advancement-and-global-mba\/","title":{"rendered":"Career Advancement and Global MBA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Interview with <strong>Andrea Zani, Head of Career Service, BBS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; How is the BBS Career Service able to support Global MBA students in defining and implementing a career path?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>BBS<\/strong> <strong>Career Service<\/strong> supports <strong>Global MBA<\/strong> students with dedicated tools and <strong>networks<\/strong> to <strong>start<\/strong> <strong>a career<\/strong> or <strong>reposition<\/strong> <strong>themselves<\/strong> in a new target <strong>market<\/strong>. These support strategies are customized and created specifically for each student to best enhance <strong>personal characteristics<\/strong> and meet their <strong>interests<\/strong>. After classes, the Internship Program introduces the<strong>\u00a0Global MBA<\/strong> participants directly to the ideal setting for each candidate.<\/p>\n<p>People who start a Global MBA already have past work experience and are looking to <strong>reposition<\/strong> themselves, to have <strong>career advancement<\/strong>, often by changing industries, job functions and\/or markets. To achieve this goal, a program of <strong>career development activities<\/strong> is implemented: <strong>CV<\/strong> and <strong>cover<\/strong> <strong>letter<\/strong> <strong>writing<\/strong>, <strong>individual orientation meetings<\/strong>, <strong>seminars<\/strong>, and <strong>mock interviews<\/strong>. Moreover, each student can benefit from a customized mentorship program, divided into group and individual meetings, with experts in the Master&#8217;s track (automotive, fashion and design, food and beverage, sustainability, AI and manufacturing). The goal is to provide students with <strong>knowledge<\/strong> about an <strong>evolving market<\/strong>, to <strong>support<\/strong> <strong>them<\/strong> in <strong>placement<\/strong> in <strong>leading<\/strong> <strong>companies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; How is the BBS Career Service connected to companies and how much does this network offer Global MBA students concrete job opportunities?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>BBS<\/strong> can boast an established <strong>network<\/strong> of more than <strong>500 companies<\/strong> that collaborate with the <strong>School<\/strong> in various ways, including <strong>job placement<\/strong>. These companies are the excellence of the Emilia-Romagna region and, in general, of <strong>Made in Italy<\/strong>. Because of its <strong>international vocation<\/strong>, the Career Service aims to contribute to the development of the network both in the national and international markets, inspired by the motto &#8220;Take the Italian excellence global.&#8221; Collaboration is the key: BBS supports the ecosystem of local and global companies in recruiting and training new talent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; The Global MBA BBS is designed for students with various work and cultural backgrounds. How do Career Services services adapt to meet different needs and aspirations?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>An undoubted characteristic of the <strong>Global MBA<\/strong> is the <strong>diversity<\/strong> of participants in terms of skills, experiences and cultures. Each year and for each class, this variety is both a challenge and a <strong>strength<\/strong>. The Career Service aims to provide students with all information concerning the <strong>Italian<\/strong> <strong>market<\/strong>, its <strong>trends<\/strong>, <strong>best practices<\/strong>, and <strong>salary indicators<\/strong>. This mindset is functional to establish themselves successfully, especially for those who aspire to relocate in Italy and come from markets with logic and dynamics very different from ours.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; What advice do you have for Global MBA students?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Stay hungry, stay foolish<\/em>, said Steve Jobs. I would also add &#8220;be curious&#8221; and, most importantly, &#8220;be respectful.&#8221; The job market we live in today requires both of these qualities to be successful. A <strong>balance<\/strong> must be maintained between <strong>skills<\/strong>, <strong>leadership<\/strong> and <strong>ethics<\/strong>.
