On July 25th, in the Bologna Business School<\/strong> classrooms at Villa Guastavillani, students from the Business Management Master<\/strong>, track Green Management and Sustainable Businesses<\/strong> presented their final work for the III<\/strong> annual Company Project Work<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Company Project Work<\/strong> is a curricular activity designed to put students and the business world in direct contact. Coordinated by professors Angelo Manaresi<\/strong>, Scientific Director<\/strong> of the Master’s program, and Barbara Lorenzini<\/strong>, Marketing lecturer at Bologna Business School, the Company Project Work involves four weeks of teamwork on a real case proposed by a company. A face-to-face approach to the dynamics of the corporate world to arrive with more awareness at the end-of-course internship.<\/p>\n The Kick-Off of Project Work for Bologna Airport was presented on June 27th by Tomaso Barilli<\/strong>, Head of Sustainability and HSE Manager<\/strong>, SDG Action Manager<\/strong>; Cristian Esposito<\/strong>, People Analytics & Process<\/strong>, SDG Action Manager<\/strong>; Giorgia Colella, Program Management & Transformation Office<\/strong>; and Luca Orlandi<\/strong>, Head of Infrastructure & Sustainability<\/strong>, PMO<\/strong> of Bologna Airport, Aeroporto di Bologna<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The project for Italy’s third-largest<\/strong> airport<\/strong> by cargo traffic<\/strong> and fourth-largest<\/strong> by passengers<\/strong>, set in a central location with high-life quality, was designed as the development<\/strong> of a business strategy<\/strong> focused on an ambitious sustainability budget<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Three points to challenge Bologna Business School<\/strong> students to find a benchmark with other related realities<\/strong> and estimate which SDGs<\/strong> (sustainable development goals) are most relevant<\/strong>; to propose<\/strong> an outline of priority<\/strong> SDGs<\/strong> for Aeroporto di Bologna highlighting goals<\/strong> and targets<\/strong>; and to carry out a gap analysis<\/strong> between the current DNF<\/strong> (Non-Financial Declaration, reporting with social and environmental aspects) presented by Aeroporto di Bologna and the new European CSRD<\/strong> (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) that recently came into force (January 5, 2023).<\/p>\n Students answered with an in-depth study of airports in Naples<\/strong>, Venice<\/strong>, Zaragoza<\/strong>, Amsterdam<\/strong>, Zurich<\/strong> and Swedavia<\/strong>, of which they analyzed greenhouse<\/strong> gas<\/strong> emissions<\/strong> and noise impact reduction<\/strong>, resource management<\/strong> and community<\/strong> and stakeholder<\/strong> engagement<\/strong>, and the level of protection of the surrounding natural environment<\/strong>. Sustainability<\/strong> reports<\/strong> were consulted, highlighting the most relevant SDGs<\/strong> and comparing targets<\/strong> and implemented actions<\/strong>. For each mapped SDG, actions<\/strong> and KPIs<\/strong> (Key Performance Indicators) were identified for the achievement of the targeted goals.<\/p>\n The group then analyzed three extra-airport cases<\/strong> to compare data from these realities. The students reviewed the Port of Genoa<\/strong>, the food company Fratelli Carli<\/strong>, and IGD<\/strong>, Italy’s first group among listed companies in the retail real estate sector (leader in the Shopping Center segment). Here, too, the students focused on SDGs and related KPIs.<\/p>\n Finally, the team identified the priority<\/strong> SDGs<\/strong> for Aeroporto<\/strong> di Bologna<\/strong>, relating<\/strong> the data<\/strong> to<\/strong> the requirements of the GRI standard<\/strong> (Global Report Initiative, an international nonprofit organization with the aim to set standards for sustainable performance reporting of companies and organizations) and those of the new European CSRD<\/strong>, identifying implementation steps<\/strong> and recommending some actions<\/strong> for Aeroporto di Bologna to take. These included improving<\/strong> communication<\/strong> and general<\/strong> marketing<\/strong> activities<\/strong>, monitoring<\/strong> air<\/strong> quality<\/strong> with the Planetwatch device and producing<\/strong> and using<\/strong> green<\/strong> hydrogen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Challenging work, completed by Master’s students under the supervision and coordination of Professors Chiara Berti<\/strong> and Sara<\/strong> Zanni<\/strong>, with a complex and elaborate paper discussed in the classroom with executives from Aeroporto di Bologna<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Bologna Business School<\/strong>‘s Business<\/strong> Management<\/strong> Master<\/strong> is a curriculum that combines university education, Project<\/strong> Work<\/strong> and MGIncontri<\/strong>, meetings with executives<\/strong> ready to talk about their experiences<\/strong>.
