During his speech <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Orange Intelligenz: KUKA&#8217;s vision for the future of automation<\/strong><\/span>, he will discuss with the BBS Community the Industry 4.0 and IoT within the framework of the smart factory and the collaborative robotics. The event is organized in collaboration with\u00a0<em>Philip Morris Italia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>KUKA AG<\/strong> was founded in 1898 by Johann Joseph Keller and Jakob Knappich in Augsburg, Germany. In 1973, KUKA writes history as a robotics pioneer by developing\u00a0<em>FAMULUS<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0the world\u2019s first industrial robot with six electromechanically driven axes.\u00a0In 1996, KUKA is the first robot manufacturer to introduce an open PC-based controller. In 2007, KUKA launched\u00a0<em>KR titan<\/em>: with a payload capacity of 1,000 kilograms and a reach of 3,200 mm,\u00a0it is the world\u2019s largest and strongest 6-axis industrial robot.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the company is one of the world&#8217;s leading suppliers of <strong>robotic technology and plant engineering<\/strong>, as well as in the development and supply of intelligent automation solutions. KUKA\u2019s corporate structure is composed by the following Divisions: <em>industries<\/em>, <em>automotive<\/em>, <em>consumer goods &amp; logistics automation<\/em> and <em>healthcare<\/em>.\u00a0As a technology leader, KUKA sets standards in the automation sector all over the world. In addition to the headquarters at the production and development site in Augsburg, the Group is internationally represented with about <strong>100 companies<\/strong> and <strong>14,200 employees worldwide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #212121;\">In 1986, after graduating in <strong>Mechanical Engineering<\/strong> at the Turin Polytechnic, Gian Luca Branca began his career at <strong>Comau S.p.A.<\/strong> where he\u00a0developed robotic automation projects for the automotive sector. In 2000, he took part as a manager in a start-up of the <strong>KPMG \/ Telecom Italia joint venture<\/strong> in the field of e-commerce development services for the Italian B2B market. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #212121;\">In 2004, Branca joined <strong>KUKA Roboter Italia S.p.A.<\/strong>, the Italian subsidiary of the German multinational KUKA Robotics, where he held the role of General Sales Manager for the Robotics Division.
