{"id":106622,"date":"2023-07-20T10:57:12","date_gmt":"2023-07-20T08:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/?page_id=106622"},"modified":"2025-08-26T16:19:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T14:19:09","slug":"kids-coding-week","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/kids-coding-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids Coding Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"108\" data-end=\"154\"><strong data-start=\"108\" data-end=\"152\">Kids Coding Week is back this September!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"156\" data-end=\"399\">We are excited to announce that the <strong data-start=\"192\" data-end=\"227\">7th edition of Kids Coding Week<\/strong> will take place during the first two weeks of September 2025, offering young learners a unique opportunity to explore the world of programming in a fun and engaging way.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"483\">The two sessions will be held at <strong data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"457\">Villa Guastavillani<\/strong> on the following dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"536\">\n<p data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"483\"><strong>Monday, September 1 \u2013 Friday, September 5, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"536\">\n<p data-start=\"401\" data-end=\"483\"><strong>Monday, September 8 \u2013 Friday, September 12, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"700\">Don\u2019t miss the chance to be part of this educational and inspiring experience! Registration will open soon.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"1149\">This is a fantastic opportunity for children to dive into the world of coding and technology! Through interactive workshops, educational games, and exciting challenges, participants will develop essential digital skills, fuel their curiosity, and discover the potential of coding. Supported by industry experts, the program takes place in a welcoming and stimulating environment designed to inspire and nurture the next generation of innovators.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1470\">This initiative is organised by BBS <strong>for the children of Community members<\/strong> (students, alumni, faculty and staff) as well as <strong>the children of the University of Bologna staff<\/strong> (faculty, researchers, technical-administrative staff, language assistants and managers).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1577\">Participants will be divided into two age groups to ensure activities are age-appropriate and engaging:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1579\" data-end=\"1643\">\n<li data-start=\"1579\" data-end=\"1610\">\n<p data-start=\"1581\" data-end=\"1610\"><strong data-start=\"1581\" data-end=\"1593\">Group 1:<\/strong> 8\u201310 years old<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1611\" data-end=\"1643\">\n<p data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1643\"><strong data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1625\">Group 2:<\/strong> 11\u201313 years old<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"2092\">The program introduces children to coding through creative and interactive approaches inspired by the principles of <strong data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1783\">creative computing<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1809\">creative learning<\/strong>. It also includes an introduction to <strong data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"1874\">Artificial Intelligence<\/strong>, featuring hands-on, engaging activities designed to make key AI concepts accessible. This is a unique chance for young learners to begin understanding the increasingly central role AI will play in tomorrow\u2019s world.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2094\" data-end=\"2420\">The total participation fee for Kids Coding Week is <strong data-start=\"2146\" data-end=\"2156\">\u20ac1,300<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2094\" data-end=\"2420\">Scholarships of <strong data-start=\"2176\" data-end=\"2186\">\u20ac1,000<\/strong> each are available and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds run out.<br data-start=\"2282\" data-end=\"2285\" \/>The fee covers all educational and workshop activities, use of computers, lunches, snacks, and the support of professional educators.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is organized by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/faculty\/gabbrielli-maurizio\/\">Maurizio Gabbrielli<\/a>, Associate Dean for AI and Digital Soul at BBS<\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/faculty\/ricci-2\/\">Alessandro Ricci<\/a>, Associate Professor at DISI, University of Bologna,<\/strong> in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/disi.unibo.it\/en\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI), University of Bologna<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criad.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Research Center for Applied Informatics in Education and Teaching<\/strong><\/a> (C.R.I.A.D.), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.16lab.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>16Lab Experiential Training<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong data-start=\"2831\" data-end=\"2853\">Spaces are limited<\/strong>, and registration will close once the maximum number of participants is reached.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kids Coding Week is back this September!
