{"id":32407,"date":"2019-07-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-15T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/event\/the-national-geographic-documentary-apollo-mission-to-the-moon-for-the-bbs-community\/"},"modified":"2020-03-06T11:30:39","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T11:30:39","slug":"the-national-geographic-documentary-apollo-mission-to-the-moon-for-the-bbs-community","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.bbs.unibo.it\/en\/event\/the-national-geographic-documentary-apollo-mission-to-the-moon-for-the-bbs-community\/","title":{"rendered":"The National Geographic documentary, Apollo: Mission To The Moon, for the BBS community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">On July 18th, <strong>Bologna Business School<\/strong> will present <strong>Apollo: Mission To The Moon<\/strong>, the documentary of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Geographic<\/a><\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>which is part of the month program <b>1969: first foot on the Moon<\/b>, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first human step on the Moon which takes place next July 20th.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><!--more-->The documentary, <strong>reserved for the BBS community<\/strong>, traces the key moments of Apollo of NASA space program and reconstructs the American goal of landing on the Moon before 1970. Conceived during the presidency of Dwight Eisenhower and led by NASA, Apollo started after President John Kennedy declared in 1961 that making a man &#8220;land on the moon&#8221; by the end of the decade was one of the goals of the nation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The goal was achieved during the Apollo 11 mission when, <strong>on July 20th, 1969<\/strong>, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the Moon, while Michael Collins remained in lunar orbit. Apollo 11 was followed by six further missions, the last in December 1972, which led a total of twelve men to walk on our &#8220;natural satellite&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The Apollo program took place <strong>between 1961 and 1975<\/strong> and was the third space program for human flights &#8211; after Mercury and Gemini &#8211; organized by NASA.\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Apollo: Mission To The Moon<\/strong>\u00a0reconstructs this fateful moment in the history of the world, not from the\u00a0point of view of today, but through television services and radio broadcasts of the time, amateur videos and NASA officials ones, and audio from the control center never heard before. The documentary will be presented by <strong>Roberto Battiston<\/strong>, full professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Trento and President of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asi.it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Italian Space Agency (ASI)<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>from 2014 to 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0<strong>Apollo: Mission To The Moon<\/strong>\u00a0will be broadcast on National Geographic (Sky channel 403) on Thursday 18th July\u00a0at 20:55.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The documentary is part of the National Geographic projects, which from 13.04.2019 to 22.09.2019 presents the exhibition <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/genusbononiae.it\/mostre\/planet-or-plastic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Planet or Plastic<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>at the museum complex of Santa Maria della Vita in Bologna. At the center of the exhibition\u00a0there are\u00a0eight major issues, from the amount of plastic produced in the world to the impact on the environment and the food chain, from reuse to individual and collective education. The exhibition is curated by <strong>Marco Cattaneo<\/strong>, <strong>Director of the National Geographic monthly magazine<\/strong>\u00a0and by the editorial staff with the collaboration of the writer and documentarian <strong>Alessandra Viola<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-block-text\" style=\"color: #1e1e1e; text-align: left;\">The exhibition accompanies the viewer in an engaging journey that wants to <strong>reflect on the plastic<\/strong>, the material that has become synonymous with degradation and destruction of the planet: from the day of its invention, 8.3 billion tons were produced, of which 6.3 have become waste that remains in the environment for more than 400 years. Complete the path the projection of the National Geographic documentary <strong>Point of no return<\/strong>\u00a0by the Oscar-winning director Fisher Stevens and the Oscar-winning actor and Messenger of Peace on behalf of the ONU Leonardo Di Caprio: a fascinating report on the dramatic changes that occur today all over the world due to climate
