The third Innovation Talk of the Fall Edition will host\u00a0Massimo Moretti<\/strong>, <\/span>Founder and CEO of\u00a0WASP<\/strong>, a leading company in the 3D printing industry that aims to make the latest technologies accessible to everyone in order to free creativity and boost the economy from the bottom. During his speech\u00a0\u00a0Maker Economy Starter Kit<\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> Moretti will present\u00a0the WASP project and the innovative 3D printing technology able to combine the most ancient material, the clay, with the most modern knowledge. The event is organized in collaboration with\u00a0Philip Morris Italia<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Massimo Moretti is an electronic technician who collaborates with research centers, universities, national and international companies for the development of technical projects and innovative products through the use of 3D printing<\/strong> and rapid prototyping<\/strong>. In 2012 he founded WASP<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span> (World’s Advanced Saving Project), which, through the production of 3D printers, aims to encourage and spread the logic of self-production. With the aim of equalizing\u00a0knowledge and tools, Moretti holds training courses and nurtures research in the field of open source<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The planet’s resources are not enough to sustain the current population explosion and changing the patterns of development is no longer an option but an urgency<\/strong>. Housing<\/em>, art<\/em>, energy<\/em>, digital crafts<\/em>, health<\/em> and food<\/em> are the themes that WASP is developing in the form of concrete projects realized with its 3D printers. The power of money and finance is based on the monopoly of production capacity<\/strong>: the WASP project works to make it public, with a view to equal opportunities and equal knowledge, to free creativity and create widespread wellbeing.<\/p>\n

The possibility of a home for everyone<\/strong> is an essential part of achieving a horizon of equality and meritocracy, of shared well-being, the horizon towards which WASP projects converge. In the world, over the next 30 years, homes will be needed for 3 billion people<\/strong> who will have a spending capacity of about $ 300, about one tenth of their annual income. This is the context in which WASP’s dream is to be inserted: print a healthy, beautiful and human-sized house with a cost that tends to 0.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the technique of the potter wasp<\/strong>, symbol of the group, WASP’s research is directed towards the construction of a 3D printer to produce houses in clay. The clay\u00a0can be found anywhere in the world, it is inexpensive and easily workable. Combined with other 0 km materials, clay makes it possible to create printed buildings capable of lasting over time<\/strong>, which adapt to the territory and which do not leave ruins once they have been abandoned. This kind of\u00a0project requires transportable and energy-efficient machinery, since electricity is totally absent in vast areas of the planet. It is therefore necessary to be able to use renewable energies<\/strong> such as sun, wind and water. The Bigdelta<\/strong>, a 12-meter high 3D printer made by WASP, can be installed in about an hour by three people and can be powered with just a few meters of solar panels.\u00a0Gaia<\/a>, the first house built with local raw earth (zero km) and waste from the processing of rice (straw and rice husk), was created and presented by WASP on October 6 and 7 in Massa Lombarda (RA).<\/p>\n

The heart of WASP is 3D printing that, in an agile and fast way, materializes objects made of organic plastic, clay, silicon, biocompatible materials, which mills wood and aluminum, and allows you to start mini-productions and to satisfy your needs by yourself. The revenues\u00a0from the sale of 3D printers are invested in research and development<\/strong> of integrated projects in the perspective of a productive revolution that brings widespread prosperity.<\/p>\n
