But what if AI could go further? What if it could operate <em>online<\/em>, interacting directly and autonomously with the physical world?<\/p>\n<p>In this open lesson, we will explore how to close the loop between artificial intelligence and the real environment. This brings us into the dynamic field of cognitive robotics, where AI and robotics intersect to create systems capable of perceiving, reasoning, and acting in real time.<\/p>\n<p>The integration of AI with robotics opens exciting new possibilities but also presents significant technical and ethical challenges. How do we design systems that can interact safely and intelligently with people and environments? What are the real-world applications\u2014and the limits\u2014of such technologies?<\/p>\n<p>To ground the discussion, we\u2019ll look at research developed at the Cognitive Robotic Systems laboratory of the University of \u00d6rebro, Sweden, offering concrete examples of how these concepts are being applied today.<\/p>\n<p>The open lesson will be conducted by <strong>Alessandro Saffiotti<\/strong>, Professor of Computer Science at the University of \u00d6rebro, and coordinated by <strong>Maurizio Gabbrielli<\/strong>, Director of the Executive Master in Artificial
