On Monday<\/strong>,\u00a0October 9th<\/strong>, at\u00a06 p.m.<\/strong>,\u00a0Villa Guastavillani<\/strong>\u00a0will host the presentation of the book “Net – Zero<\/strong>,” with author\u00a0Lorenzo Forni<\/strong>, Professor of Political Economy at the\u00a0University of Padova<\/strong>\u00a0and Secretary General of\u00a0Prometeia Associazione<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The challenge of\u00a0climate change<\/strong>\u00a0requires inescapable reflection within the current economic and social system. Reducing emissions and the need for an abrupt global rethink involve institutions as well as private organizations and individual players. Concrete and rapid actions with a decisive impact are needed to address these issues.<\/p>\n

What are the tools at our disposal? What are our guiding points in this journey?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discussant for the event will be Professor\u00a0Matteo Mura<\/strong>, Director of the\u00a0BBS Centre for Sustainability and Climate Change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lorenzo Forni<\/strong>\u00a0is currently Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Economic and Business \u201cMarco Fanno\u201d of the University of Padova and Head of Prometeia Associazione, an Italian think tank providing economic analysis and forecasting. He worked from 2010 to 2016 at the International Monetary Fund in Washington and previously at the Research Department of the Bank of Italy in Rome. He received his Master\u2019s and PhD in Economics from Boston University in 2001 and was a visiting scholar at Harvard University in 2005-2006. He has published in international journals such as the American Economic Review, the Journal of Public Economics, Oxford Economic Papers.<\/p>\n
